Official Song of the State of New Hampshire   Old New Hampshire~Written by Dr. John F. Holmes~Composed by Maurice Hoffmann With a skill that knows no measure, From the golden store of Fate God, in His great love and wisdom, Made the rugged Granite State; Made the lakes, the fields, the forests; Made the Rivers and the rills; Made the bubbling, crystal fountains Of New Hampshire's Granite Hills. Old New Hampshire, Old New Hampshire Old New Hampshire Grand and Great We will sing of Old New Hampshire, Of the dear old Granite State Builded He New Hampshire glorious From the borders to the sea; And with matchless charm and splendor Blessed her for eternity. Here, the majesty of mountain; Here, the grandeur of the lake; Here, the truth as from the hillside Whence her crystal waters break. Old New Hampshire, Old New Hampshire Old New Hampshire Grand and Great We will sing of Old New Hampshire, Of the dear old Granite State     I know an odd...

Summer is a 'Cruisin' Along...

Image
August begins the end of the summer season here @ Caz....The summer college students are leaving tomorrow & will return on the 26th & the Franklin Car folks will be leaving on Saturday....    The 'kids' have been fun to be around for sure.....I got to see them for breakfast & lunch & interact with them....They seemed to enjoy the music that's played as every once in a while someone will just go into a few dance moves...Ha Ha I love it....... I think the title will be 'Meals & Melodies'...'Dinning with the Stars'....    If you love vintage cars you should come to Cazenovia & see these Syracuse made air cooled beauties.... Met some very nice folks young & old, which makes me believe that age is not a prerequisite for owning & loving these cars....The folks I did get to talk to came from Texas, Florida,Vermont, N. Hampshire & of course New York... Here are a few pics:  Should be pretty quiet for a few w...

Yes It's 'Fair' To Say....

Well the NYS Fair starts in a week & 1/2!...Now doesn't that really put things into perspective... That event has always meant the unofficial end to Summer...My favorite season is Fall so I have that to look forward to, plus the beginning of the school semester which will make for a busy but fun time...    The athletes have returned & it's nice to see some new 'kids' for sure, but also more names to try to put with their faces.....Some are cross country runners & I joked that I can run from the dining hall food line & back without even stopping to catch my breath!...The only cross country this old guy can do is in a vehicle with cruise control...Haha....    A wedding reception was held here in the dining hall on Saturday...The Bride & Mother of the Bride are employed @ Caz...The event went on without a hitch thanks to some super planning & a staff that really came together as a team...I was the first one out @ 9:45 as it i...

@ Seventy I Need Levity....

Image
First let me say I have decided to restart this blog after signing off 2 years ago....Lots has changed & well as you can see by the title of this post, I have just turned 70!...    The definition of levity according to the Cambridge Dictionary, 'amusement or a lack of seriousness'....Now that should get me through the next 12 months....Lol...  The older I get, the less importance I put on stuff that I used to consider a big deal!...Family has always been top on my list & that remains for sure...I now see that the average life expectancy for a male in the U.S. is 78.7 years....That sure is a wake up call...I need to be sure all is in order, i.e. life insurance, a will & the most important, my soul....The thought of going to heaven for eternity has a nice ring to it....Sinner?, you bet & certainly no more loved by God then anyone else, but I do have faith in God's plan....Questions?, probably more then most...However I am all in... No...

"We must learn to live together as Brothers or perish together as fools"...Martin Luther King Jr,

I had intended to post something much different today, but my heart was drawn to a much greater topic....    I believe that the hatred that has been resurrected since Mr. Trump has been President, has now reached the boiling point..If you are a Trump supporter who stands with him through his racist remarks, constant lies, his bragging of groping women, his nepotism, his disregard for the law & the separating & then caging of children from their Mothers & Fathers, then now is the time to tune this blog out....If you are still reading this I can only hope that whether you are Republican, Democrat, Independent or just a concerned Citizen that maybe we can agree that something has gone terribly wrong with our basic human decency....If this behavior was coming from any other man or women of any other political persuasion I would still call him or her out!....Last time I looked America was still the last best hope for the World....Our values are unwavering...

The 'Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow'...

Wow a lot has happened since my last post...Let me just say I am happy to be sharing my thoughts & story again & for full disclosure, I now sure have the time...    I am still a rideshare driver for Lyft & Uber...I also still do dealer trades for Romano Chrysler Jeep...I have also delivered auto parts for a new local start-up, Tonquin...I tried Postmates & Uber Eats which are food delivery companies...This week I signed up for Instacart, but have not tried my first delivery yet because of the Coronavirus...    So on March 13, yes a Friday, while on my way to pick up a rider, I was rear ended...My vehicle was driven off the roadway from the force of the impact...The good news was that while I was transported to the ER, my x-rays showed that I was only very bruised...My vehicle was totaled & since I still had a balance on the loan, I decided that for the next few months we would now be a one car family...The other vehicle is up & ...

What If?

What if ... We had a leader at the top who actually cared about the American people for whom he has sworn an oath to to serve & protect?              What if ... We had police officers in every city & town who actually weren't racist & even called out the ones who were...               What if ... All men treated women with respect & not as sexual conquests...              What if... All men & women were created equal & not treated as second class citizens because of race, religion, sexuality, social class or title...               What if... Politicians actually worked to make our lives better & served us instead of their own agenda &/or party...               What if... You didn't stand...
