"We must learn to live together as Brothers or perish together as fools"...Martin Luther King Jr,

I had intended to post something much different today, but my heart was drawn to a much greater
topic....
I believe that the hatred that has been resurrected since Mr. Trump has been President, has now reached the boiling point..If you are a Trump supporter who stands with him through his racist remarks, constant lies, his bragging of groping women, his nepotism, his disregard for the law & the separating & then caging of children from their Mothers & Fathers, then now is the time to tune this blog out....If you are still reading this I can only hope that whether you are Republican, Democrat, Independent or just a concerned Citizen that maybe we can agree that something has gone terribly wrong with our basic human decency....If this behavior was coming from any other man or women of any other political persuasion I would still call him or her out!....Last time I looked America was still the last best hope for the World....Our values are unwavering our Constitution declares all men (& women) are created equal....When I hear folks share this hatred through social media & in their actions I am sicked & ashamed....I am a born again Christian who is stunned by the silence of others who also are believers in Jesus....Have I missed something somewhere in His teachings?....Love is the essence of God which is found in abundance through out the Bible, but where is the outrage & condemnation?...Even VP Pence who is publicly vocal about his Christianity remains stiff & silent... Proverbs 31:9 "Open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and needy"....
This new posting & adventure I am on, was supposed to be about all my interactions while driving for Uber & Lyft....Actually it still is!....I have accumulated approximately 3000 rides this past year & 1/2 & that means upward of several thousand passengers since I can accommodate up to 4 passengers at a time...
So let me tell you that it has been a smorgasbord from every ethnic, religious & social economic background....I have a passion for serving people & treating all with respect....This job has made me smile much more than curse....I have driven Mom's from their home to the baby sitters & then to work....I have taken students of all races to High Schools, Colleges & Trade Schools....I have talked with men & women who have hopes, dreams & goals to which they are striving & sacrificing to meet....I have driven around the most humble of folks that have helped me to restore my faith when it dearly needed a boost....I have had more folks wish me a 'blessed day' then those who would wish me any ill or harm....Please this is not about me boasting, for I have readily admitted that I am a sinner who is always seeking God's grace & wisdom....I will continue to stumble & fall short but I will always try to uphold this Commandment:
Mark 12:30-31 "Love the Lord your God with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength...The second is this "Love your neighbor as yourself: "There is no commandment greater than these"....

“But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in darkness.” -1 John 2:11

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background or his religion. People learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love
comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
 Nelson Mandela

“We must live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”
Martin Luther King Jr.

We need to reject any politics that targets people because of race or religion. This isn't a matter of political correctness. It's a matter of understanding what makes us strong. The world respects us not just for our arsenal; it respects us for our diversity and our openness and the way we respect every faith.
Barack Obama

I have decided to stick to love...Hate is too great a burden to bear.”
 Martin Luther King Jr.
Thanks for reading this this & I pray that we can all be 'Always Be Humble & Kind' as the song I love is titled...

We The People

I've sat back for over these past four years & kept silent as the daily Facebook political posts supporting our now ex-President became even more alarming...Now it's my turn to make my voice known...I can not sit idle any longer...This posting is lengthily & it's my space to write down my thoughts so be fore warned...      Well here it is March 25, 2021 & 563,530 fellow Americans are gone because of the pandemic...We had an inept President & administration for whom facts just didn't matter...The most important duty of a President is to protect us all from foreign & domestic harm & he failed miserably...He has still exhibited no empathy or apology...It still continues to be everyone else's fault..What an inept disgrace of a leader & American... It's amazing to me that he continues to be unfazed & that his cult members still support him...The lies & conspiracy theories continue & we are more divided &...

My Recent Thoughts

I previously posted this on Facebook &  I am re-posting it here on my blog so it will forever be part of my story.   If you are okay with a Supreme Court that has no public policy for conduct or oversight, then keep voting for Republicans. If you are okay with our government deciding what's best for a women's body, then keep voting for Republicans. If you are okay with all these mass shootings & the massacring our children, then keep voting for Republicans. If you are okay with more guns & less legislation on limiting access to them, then keep voting for Republicans. If you are okay with the continuing hate being used against the LBGTQ community, Asians, people of Color, people with Disabilities, Drag Queens & Disney, then keep voting for Republicans. If you are okay with the lies about the last Presidential election & who won & a certain news network saying that January 6th was just a few folks wanting to take a peaceful tour of the Con...

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:

Well it is almost vacation time!  Never thought I would be closing the Cafe for a week of r&r, but the timing is right.  With the loss of my Mom, the re occurrence of my spinal stenosis which brings on a pain that is sometimes unbearable, the fact that Ella Mae is on Spring Break from her duties @ SU & finally I'm pooped!  If you have followed me on this blog than you know I have 'put it out there' that running a small business & most notably a food business, can take a lot out of you.  The fact that I open & close 5 days a week & do all the cooking & dare I say it I am almost 64!  That last reason would be enough for most, but I love what I do even when 'stuff' comes @ me.  Some times these factors are self inflicted but really most are just events that life can bring to any one of us.  So the Cafe will be closed from Monday March 11 & reopen on Monday March 18.  EM & I are driving down to spend time with...
