@ Seventy I Need Levity....




    First let me say I have decided to restart this blog after signing off 2 years ago....Lots has changed & well as you can see by the title of this post, I have just turned 70!...
   The definition of levity according to the Cambridge Dictionary, 'amusement or a lack of seriousness'....Now that should get me through the next 12 months....Lol...
 The older I get, the less importance I put on stuff that I used to consider a big deal!...Family has always been top on my list & that remains for sure...I now see that the average life expectancy for a male in the U.S. is 78.7 years....That sure is a wake up call...I need to be sure all is in order, i.e. life insurance, a will & the most important, my soul....The thought of going to heaven for eternity has a nice ring to it....Sinner?, you bet & certainly no more loved by God then anyone else, but I do have faith in God's plan....Questions?, probably more then most...However I am all in...
Now that I know what's up spiritually, I now can ease up a little & just live the years I have left with a happy heart...
   I have had two surgeries & left my job @ Caz College last year...I now drive full time for the ride share companies, Uber & Lyft....This will now be the focus of my posts....If someone had told me last year that I would be doing this for a living I would have thought them to be wacky....I must say right up front that this is now up there as one of my favorite jobs....The great thing about doing this is you are self employed & decide the hours & days you want to drive....I am out @ 6 am until around 2 or 3 Monday through Friday & sometimes an occasional Saturday....This is my non retirement job....Can't afford to retire & don't want to retire...I would self destruct if I did!...
   Of course as I relate my 'drive time' experiences all names will remain anonymous....Please check back if you are interested in this old guys narrative about the folks who live in or are traveling through this City that I love....Thanks much....

 I previously posted this on Facebook &  I am re-posting it here on my blog so it will forever be part of my story.   If you are okay with a Supreme Court that has no public policy for conduct or oversight, then keep voting for Republicans. If you are okay with our government deciding what's best for a women's body, then keep voting for Republicans. If you are okay with all these mass shootings & the massacring our children, then keep voting for Republicans. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:

 Well it is almost vacation time!  Never thought I would be closing the Cafe for a week of r&r, but the timing is right.  With the loss of my Mom, the re occurrence of my spinal stenosis which brings on a pain that is sometimes unbearable, the fact that Ella Mae is on Spring Break from her duties @ SU & finally I'm pooped!  If you have followed me on this blog than you know I have 'put it out there' that running a small business & most notably a food business, can take a lot out of you.  The fact that I open & close 5 days a week & do all the cooking & dare I say it I am almost 64!  That last reason would be enough for most, but I love what I do even when 'stuff' comes @ me.  Some times these factors are self inflicted but really most are just events that life can bring to any one of us.  So the Cafe will be closed from Monday March 11 & reopen on Monday March 18.  EM & I are driving down to spend time with...
