Well I'm sure you have heard the phrase, 'never say never'.....So when I ended this blog back when I turned 65 it seemed like the perfect time.....Well I should have known that it wasn't really the end because hey there is still so many adventures waiting....So I'm back...I must state now that writing down my life's experiences is a stress reliever for me, as I do enjoy getting stuff out of my head...I am hoping that someday when I am 'out of here' that my Grandchildren might run across this when googling their Grandpa...It can give them a small look into my life and realize we are still connected
and my love is eternal...
So here is a brief recap of those past 3 years since I sold the Cafe....I went to work as the cook for the same Fraternity @ SU that Ella Mae had been for 11 years....She was both the cook and house manager and now I would take over the cooking to help relieve her a bit....Let me say right here that I knew I could never replace either her work ethic or that amazing love she had for her 'boys'....During those years she was actually my boss and I now can admit, I was not a model employee....She did
so much more when she was the cook...Stayed later and was so much more excusing of their behavior than I was, because after all she was the 'House Mom'....I always gave it 100% but EM gave 150%...
EM had made the decision back at the end of the first semester of 2016 that it was time to call it quits
after graduation 2017...Originally we had considered me taking over both the positions that she had held for all those years....However EM being the 'tell it like is' gal, rightfully said that my back/leg pain was not going to allow for that no matter how I tried to 'man up' and tell her I could do it....
So we were both going to go out as a team, just like we have in most of the adventures of our life, together...Unfortunately the last few weeks before graduation was to say the least not going as we had planned...The house was in total melt down, no respect from the 'brothers' and needless to say no one cared that place was a total disgusting mess...I was so angry that on the last Friday for which I was to cook breakfast to order, I refused and with EM's protesting noted, (that goes back to her unconditional love for her 'boys', no matter what!) we left....That was May 12 and on Monday May 15 is where the next chapter begins....
