Baby It's Cold Out Side but It Will Be Toasty Warm in Heaven.....

Wow January is almost history & adios.  The cold, combined with Christmas bills, property taxes,
this soft economy & dieting has made for a dive in business here @ the Cafe.  I can only hope February will get 'folks' back to a semi normal routine & make Cosmo's a must stop again.
Torrie,  is our new smiling face & she is a joy to work with.  The customers have really taken to her genuine friendliness & eagerness to please.  I am very grateful to have her join the team!
Ella Mae lost her brother Lynn this month.   He was why we took the quick trip to N. Carolina during our break here @ the Cafe in December.  We are so thankful that we had a chance to visit with him for a few days.  EM & Lynn had many meaningful hours together that she can now always recall when the sadness & grief creeps in every so often.  Lynn was EM's middle brother as she was the 'baby' in the family.  Lynn was only 67!   I also lost my middle brother, Jimmy, & he was only 34!  If you are estranged from any of your siblings or any family members, I urge you to make the move to reconcile now!  The 'life is to short' saying is absolutely true.   EM & I had great relationships with both our brothers & brother-in-laws & we will never have to wish that we had done this or that in the end.  Lord, thank you for allowing  EM & I  to have had so many happy memories of our brothers & of all our family.
I pray that the God will restore us all in His time & to His eternal Kingdom where we can all be with our families again.  We will all  be praising God & rejoicing as one......
Thanks to all for your support & prayers..........

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:

Well it is almost vacation time!  Never thought I would be closing the Cafe for a week of r&r, but the timing is right.  With the loss of my Mom, the re occurrence of my spinal stenosis which brings on a pain that is sometimes unbearable, the fact that Ella Mae is on Spring Break from her duties @ SU & finally I'm pooped!  If you have followed me on this blog than you know I have 'put it out there' that running a small business & most notably a food business, can take a lot out of you.  The fact that I open & close 5 days a week & do all the cooking & dare I say it I am almost 64!  That last reason would be enough for most, but I love what I do even when 'stuff' comes @ me.  Some times these factors are self inflicted but really most are just events that life can bring to any one of us.  So the Cafe will be closed from Monday March 11 & reopen on Monday March 18.  EM & I are driving down to spend time with...

Time To Say Goodbye

Well it's really the right time to end this journey of mine with this final post.  I just turned 74 & while I'm not throwing in the towel, I am mindful of the time I may have left.  I was shocked to just find out that the average male life expectancy in the U.S. is 73.  I'm certainly hoping to be given enough years to spend as much time as possible with my wife, Ella Mae of 53 years, my amazing Daughter Lindsay, Son-in Law Jeff, Grandchildren CJ, Daniele, Aden & Addison & as of today, our one Great Grandchild Brynlee & her Mom Amber (I surely want more) & the many friends who have made me so happy, especially John Detor.     Thanks to all the above plus Mom & Dad, Pat, Jimmy & all the                     Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends     I have been blessed with a wonderful life

We The People

I've sat back for over these past four years & kept silent as the daily Facebook political posts supporting our now ex-President became even more alarming...Now it's my turn to make my voice known...I can not sit idle any longer...This posting is lengthily & it's my space to write down my thoughts so be fore warned...      Well here it is March 25, 2021 & 563,530 fellow Americans are gone because of the pandemic...We had an inept President & administration for whom facts just didn't matter...The most important duty of a President is to protect us all from foreign & domestic harm & he failed miserably...He has still exhibited no empathy or apology...It still continues to be everyone else's fault..What an inept disgrace of a leader & American... It's amazing to me that he continues to be unfazed & that his cult members still support him...The lies & conspiracy theories continue & we are more divided &...
