"You Gotta Come See Cosmo"

Our first week back@ the Cafe from our staycation and it was great!  Everyone liked the new make over, menu & website.  It was good to see lots of the regulars & even some new 'folks'.  Our new tag line "You gotta come see Cosmo" was inspired by my neighbor, Mike and I must say, I like it.  After all,  I live & breathe this place & it will rise or fall by what I do.  I am very proud to be beginning our third year of business & of course humbled by the support of all those who have helped us get to this point.  I am very confident that this year will be our 'breakout' one!  I am a believer that hard work & dedication will eventually reward you.  I will never become wealthy from running this Cafe, but  I never expected that.  I only wanted to supplement our meager SS retirement payments & at the same time stay productive doing something I love.  The love part is no problem & the other part is on going and still my goal.
As always thanks for allowing me to share & for all your support & prayers for our success & please don't forget, "You gotta come see Cosmo"

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:

Well it is almost vacation time!  Never thought I would be closing the Cafe for a week of r&r, but the timing is right.  With the loss of my Mom, the re occurrence of my spinal stenosis which brings on a pain that is sometimes unbearable, the fact that Ella Mae is on Spring Break from her duties @ SU & finally I'm pooped!  If you have followed me on this blog than you know I have 'put it out there' that running a small business & most notably a food business, can take a lot out of you.  The fact that I open & close 5 days a week & do all the cooking & dare I say it I am almost 64!  That last reason would be enough for most, but I love what I do even when 'stuff' comes @ me.  Some times these factors are self inflicted but really most are just events that life can bring to any one of us.  So the Cafe will be closed from Monday March 11 & reopen on Monday March 18.  EM & I are driving down to spend time with...

Time To Say Goodbye

Well it's really the right time to end this journey of mine with this final post.  I just turned 74 & while I'm not throwing in the towel, I am mindful of the time I may have left.  I was shocked to just find out that the average male life expectancy in the U.S. is 73.  I'm certainly hoping to be given enough years to spend as much time as possible with my wife, Ella Mae of 53 years, my amazing Daughter Lindsay, Son-in Law Jeff, Grandchildren CJ, Daniele, Aden & Addison & as of today, our one Great Grandchild Brynlee & her Mom Amber (I surely want more) & the many friends who have made me so happy, especially John Detor.     Thanks to all the above plus Mom & Dad, Pat, Jimmy & all the                     Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Friends     I have been blessed with a wonderful life

We The People

I've sat back for over these past four years & kept silent as the daily Facebook political posts supporting our now ex-President became even more alarming...Now it's my turn to make my voice known...I can not sit idle any longer...This posting is lengthily & it's my space to write down my thoughts so be fore warned...      Well here it is March 25, 2021 & 563,530 fellow Americans are gone because of the pandemic...We had an inept President & administration for whom facts just didn't matter...The most important duty of a President is to protect us all from foreign & domestic harm & he failed miserably...He has still exhibited no empathy or apology...It still continues to be everyone else's fault..What an inept disgrace of a leader & American... It's amazing to me that he continues to be unfazed & that his cult members still support him...The lies & conspiracy theories continue & we are more divided &...
